- The answer and its evidence

Where the answers come from
Each project keeps its own shelf. A search adds matching PubMed records to that shelf; a question is answered only from passages retrieved off it, with the title and year attached to every claim.
Why some words get dropped
PubMed silently ignores terms it cannot map. A search that quietly lost a word is a count of a different search, so dropped terms are reported first, above the totals.
Search-only and question-only runs
Leave the question empty to collect papers. Leave the query empty to question the shelf you already built. Filling both does the collecting first, then answers with the wider shelf.
What "new" counts
New means records this project had not seen before. Papers already collected are counted separately, so a repeat search does not look like fresh growth.
